Customized tour of Hoi An and Danang
I secured a private tour through Xuan Tu several months before our cruise because I read that she was the best. She was very professional and assigned me a tour guide named Quan who met us on the dock at the precise time we had agreed upon. Along with Quan was a driver and a very comfortable car with water and AC. Soon after we began discussing the activities of the day, I voiced some concerns that the 1st part of the day was not to my liking. Quan gave us some other options which we quickly agreed upon and he called Xuan Tu to make sure it was alright if we customized our tour. She readily agreed and with Quan at the helm, we had a perfect day doing and seeing just the things we enjoy. Quan was professional, knowledgable and quite a lot of fun! Private tours do cost more that cruise excursions, but as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”! We felt like we received a great value for our money and saw so much more than other cruise guests returning from their excursions. I would highly recommend Xuan Tu Tours. — Traveller: Planejane955 from Tripadvisor
What a gem… what a wonderful trip
I contacted Xuan to arrange a day trip for my family and friends when our cruise ship docked in Da Nang. A total of 25 of us… She replied my email and whatsapp very promptly and very detail. Designed a very good itinerary for us, as I told her there are elderly and young children, this is why we want a private tour rather than joining the ship one. Also we like to see Da Nang and Hoi An in a day, she has no doubt and gave me a very good schedule. Thank you When we arrived the dock, Xuan was at the ship side waiting for us, she brought 2 young girls with her, Tram and Thu as our guide… to be honest… we were a bit worry that 2 young girls… can they manage a big group? What a great surprise, both of them are so pleasant, so nice, so caring, so funny… Tram is the main guide who speaks fluent English, very humour, very knowledgeable, very smart, with the help of Thu, they are perfect team. Thu is the assistant to Tram who looks after us, make sure we were not lost, always chatting and smiling all the time… so so pleasant.. Both of them made the trip so good and made everyone so happy. Without them, Da Nang and Hoi An trip will be only a tourist visit. With them, it is a visit to see our best friends there… they made us so welcome and wonderful there. I hope our crazy group didn’t cause them too much trouble … mind you, they never shown any unhappy or tiresome to us… thank you my two little friends.. we love you. Again, I like to thank you Xuan to arrange a very beautiful lunch for us in Hoi An, also met us there to show her hospitality… well done… most important… your arrangement to send Tram and Thu to look after us. Love you all… — Traveller: QQRON from Tripadvisor
Good Tours but Not Sure If It is Value for Money
We joined the Danang tour as well as a combined Hoi An sightseeing and food tour on two consecutive days. It was convenient and easy to book a tour before our trip via email. The tours were well-organized and we thought it was good to have two separate tours instead of one combined long day. We had the same guide and he was knowledgeable and friendly. Another nice guide joined the Hoi An tour. Overall, it is a good introduction to Danang and Hoi An but we’re not so sure if it was worth it, particularly for the Hoi An tour as there is no need for transportation in between. We also didn’t get the short river cruise indicated for the Hoi An tour. There seems to be strong pressure to get guests to post reviews on TripAdviser. While we understand such request at the end of the tour, we didn’t quite appreciate the follow-up texts at 1 am to put in a 5-star review. — Traveller: HappyTravellerHK from Tripadvisor
Wonderful Hoi An Tour with Thuy Luong
We thought it would be best to go with a local guide while in Vietnam, as we were coming off a cruise ship (Sapphire Princess) and time was short with only a one day stopover….we were so pleased to be met by Thuy Luong. She was waiting patiently in the hot sun holding a sign with my name so we knew exactly who she was. Thuy is the sweetest person you would ever meet. She asked us what we wanted to see or experience in Hoi An and designed the tour to meet our needs exactly….including last minutes requests. When I noticed the arm protectors that she was wearing and mentioned that I liked them, she asked the driver to stop at a local vendor so that I could pick up a pair (and some masks), and she negotiated an excellent price in the local language. I couldn’t be happier. We were a group of 4, and we fit comfortably in a newish Toyota Fortuner (mid-sized SUV). With the driver and Thuy, we had lots of room for all 6 of us, plus a cooler of water to keep us hydrated. Thuy was very kind, polite and extremely well informed about her country. It felt like we were with a friend instead of a guide. The tour itself was a good mix of sites, food, and culture. After a very long day, Thuy rode all the way back with us to our cruise ship port in Chan May. i don’t she got back to her home in Danang until close to midnight but she was so accommodating the entire time. I would highly recommend Thuy! — Traveller: yebberz from Tripadvisor
