Different and Ideal to meet Locals
This was a private tour which differs from what I had experienced before. My original interest was only Hoi An but Xuan Tu brought us to the outskirts of Hoi An to meet the locals. Do note these local Vietnamese are not the usual vendors targeting at tourists for the “big money”. We traveled to Cam Kim Island, a village across from Hoi An by a big, noisy ferry run by a local man. We cycle throughout our trek into the village. Introduced to the trade – building, restoring boats; wood carving; local homes where the families make rice paper, noodles and also another who does weaving of mats. In fact, the families who make rice paper and weaving of mats are poor families. It gave us an insight how simple life can be, and what your tourist dollar can do to help these families – just by looking into their lives. This visit was indeed the highlight of our trip and Xuan Tu’s goal to show us local families was perfect for us. Xuan Tu was also able to bring us around Hoi An and share the history of each place. It was indeed a memorable experience with bubbly Xuan Tu as our guide. — Traveller: Margaret P from Tripadvisor
Fun Private Tour
I wanted a full day of sightseeing with some fun and history and we sure got that. I found Xuan Tu from trip advisor as we wanted a Private Tour and all her reviews were rated so highly so I emailed her and tailor made our day to suit us. Xuan Tu and her team arrived right on time (We were lucky to have Lam come with us as his knowledge of Hoi An was valuable and he is a great guy with great english as well). We set out to My Son first and by the time we arrived we had all became fast friends. We had a lovely visit and learnt all about the ancient Hindu temples of the Champa people and it was so very hot,I am glad Xuan Tu made us take the water,we sure needed it. She took us through the ruins that we were aloud to visit and explained its history as well as became our personal photographer. We got some amazing pics. Next we went into Hoi An and started our food walking tour,we had the famous Banh My first, omg wow,but I was full from that and was unable to sample too much more, oops. We walked around the markets and learnt some history and then went into a fabulous little tea house that we just adored,so charming and was great to sit and chill with a nice iced tea which was amazing. We went through fruit markets and sampled a desert that was to die for,if only i could fit it in ha ha,then had some spicy mango which was also amazing,we visited a house and walked along the river and got a feel of this beautiful place. We did not stop eating and we got to try so many new things I would not have tried otherwise. We had a few hours in Hoi An then headed to the beach on sunset for some more food and cocktails, the sunset was spectacular as was the food and company. Our tour was very cheap for what we got,it was 10 hours and worth way more. We made great memories with our new friends and I cant recommend them highly enough, what a fabulous day, FA. In fact it was the highlight of our 18 day trip travelling Vietnam. I can’t wait to do it all again one day. Xuan Tu is a very charming and fun guide that you can’t help but to fall in love with, she is a genuine sweet heart. Thank you so very much. — Traveller: binbali from Tripadvisor
Fantastic and Fun Day
Hi Xuan Thu (Song Two) had a great day with you in Hoi An! Great fun! Great food ( btw, Banh Mi Phuong may be the best in the world according to Anthony Boudain, but it’s not even in top 10 in Trip Advisor!) but YOU are no. 1!! Fantastic! Keep it up! Tommy did a great job too ( but we would have preferred you;) ) — Traveller: Casper65 from Tripadvisor
Amazing Service
I had organised a tour with Xuan Tu before our trip to Vietnam via email. She was great to deal with, prompt responses and answered all of my questions. Upon arriving she had a full day of activities planned out for us in Hoi An, and made it a day to remember for our honeymoon. She even came back to our hotel after our day had ended to bring us a some presents and a card, which was well above and beyond any tour guide we have ever met. For anyone travelling to Da Nang or Hoi An I could not recommend her service more highly, a lovely person and great fun. Many thanks for the day Xuan Tu, and sorry it has taken so long for me to write a review for you. — Traveller: X6625BIpaulr from Tripadvisor
Tailor-made with humour and passion
We got in touch with Xuan Tu after a recommendation from another tour group. How right they were! I emailed Xuan Tu about putting together a tour for us that had a bit of everything: some off the beaten track bits and some of the more touristy bits; and she did I with aplomb! She did warn us that it would be a pretty full-on day, but both her and Lam’s energy kept us going even when we were dripping with sweat on the Marble Mountain! They met us at our hotel and first took us for “the best Vietnamese baguette” where we sat and chatted and got to know each other and I have to admit, the baguette was amazing. We then headed for Cam Kim island and met some incredible local people, drank sugarcane, “helped” (though I’m not sure how much help we actually were) make rice paper noodles and sleeping mats and visited the local boat yard and wood carving centre. From there we headed into Hoi An, drank tea and cooled down a bit, then off the Marble Mountain, Lady Buddha and into Da Nang for dinner from two local restaurants. And at the end of all that, Xuan Tu and Lam were both happy to go on, do more and show us more but we were totally exhausted! With Xuan Tu and Lam we felt like we’d met with friends for a day out. They’re so lovely and accommodating, highly energetic and a pair of comedians who even make the car journeys entertaining! I can’t recommend Xuan Tu highly enough. You get a guide who will happily go the extra mile to give you the trip you really want and will end up feeling like someone you’ve known your whole life! — Traveller: Lucy H from Tripadvisor
