Great tour with Tommy

Tommy gave us a great tour of Hoi An and the surrounding villages. Hoi An was our third city in Vietnam on this trip, having come from Hanoi and Hue. Both these cities have numerous major attractions. By comparison Hoi An is a smaller town, where you get a better chance to see and understand life in Vietnam. Tommy was a great guide for this type of tour. His family has lived here for many generations and he is clearly very proud of his city and its heritage. We used a private boat for the morning portion of the tour and visited a boat building and fine carpentry workshops in one village, then had a chance to visit two families in another village where we made rice paper and helped build cane sleeping mats. Tommy had developed relationships with these families while doing community outreach when he was in school and it shows – they treat him like a true friend of the family and that enthusiasm shows in how they welcomed us as guests. Later, after a great lunch in an off the beaten path restaurant, we toured the town of Hoi An, visited temples, the Japanese covered bridge, and some older homes in the town. Tommy knows his history and brought some of the places to life by using some very creative exhibits on his smartphone. We cannot recommend Tommy and Xuantu highly enough. They did a great job for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our day in Hoi An. — Traveller: 416_to_the_world from Tripadvisor

Your of Da Nang and Hoi An

Xuân Tú was the perfect guide for the perfect tour. Excellent in everyday. She was exceptionally knowledgeable and gave us the tour she promised. Extra stops for pictures and shopping as needed. Would recommend her without hesitation. She and her team are excellent. — Traveller: racooper from Tripadvisor

Awesome tour

My boyfriend and I booked a day tour to Hoi An. It was a great experience and an eye opener too, seeing the small village that we were toured to. Our guide Quan was very informative and took good care of us for the duration of the whole tour from start to end. Very witty too! What’s great about the tour is that we were not rushed to see and experience everything. We enjoyed every single minute. — Traveller: Reginadl from Tripadvisor

Hoi An private tour via the Carpentry Village

We did the full day tour from Dang to Hoi An via Cam Kim island. We were picked up promptly at our resort in Da Nang by our tour guide Quan and our driver. We were then taken via boat to the Carpentry village on Cam Kim island. Here we learnt the art of making boats and then cycled around the island. We stopped at local houses where we learnt to make placemats from the grass reeds, then off to another house where we made rice paper noodles and sampled these after. It all made me feel very lucky that I live in Australia, they lead such primitive lives. Every person we met were all very friendly and most helpful. We then took the boat back to Hoi An and Quan showed us around the old town, visiting the sights and learning the history. There is plenty of time to shop and Quan took us to a tailor to have some dresses made. There is lots of walking on this tour but can be done at your own pace. We ended the tour at around 4pm as we were a bit weary and I found the constant traffic noise a bit annoying. Best to visit the old town after 3pm when no cars or motorbikes are allowed. Quan was a fantastic guide and very easy to talk to and to accommodate our needs. We highly recommend this tour for getting to see how the locals live and to see the old town for sightseeing, food and shopping. — Traveller: 909denises from Tripadvisor

perfect in every way

Xuan Tu speaks excellent English, is intelligent and has a great sense of humor .She loves Viet Nam and tirelessly tells about its history and culture. We discovered Hoi An thru her eyes. We were able to set the pace while still keeping to our busy days’ schedule. We choose the souvenir stores and she got us fair prices while never taking a commission . She steered us to a local lunch spot which provided a typical lunch and much needed wi fi connection. She also stayed with us all day- not the often heard from a guide- meet me here in a half hour or an hour. She also chatted with us during lunch and we were able to have a lively exchange. My husband walks with a cane. He was able to keep up with the considerate pace that Xuan Tu set.She took us to marble mountain and also to lady Buddha. We went past the former China Beach. You will be very fortunate if you spend a day with charming Xuan tu. We met her colleague at the end of the day and he also seemed nice.
