Cu Chi Tunnel & Saigon Highlights Private Tour
The Cu Chi Tunnels are an incredible network of hundreds of kilometers of narrow tunnels that were built during the resistance to French colonization and used extensively during the Vietnam War. The Tunnels give an amazing insight into life during the war and you will enjoy a guided exploration of the complex network You will be picked up at the reception of your hotel for the short journey into Saigon’s suburbs where on arrival, you will enjoy a short introductory film to demonstrate how the tunnels were built and gain a better understanding of the perseverance, intelligence, and fortitude of the Vietnamese people showed in their resistance against a stronger power. You can take a guided exploration of this complex network, seeing underground storage rooms, make-shift hospitals and sleeping quarters used to evade bombing. Please note: crawling inside the Chu Chi Tunnels involves a confined space. It is a really worthwhile experience which needs only takes 15 minutes – or longer depending on how much you want to explore. Mekong Delta Private Day Tour
A trip to Vietnam can’t be fully complete without spending some time in Mỹ Tho City. My Tho is the closest destinations (70 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City) and the best area to catch a breath of fresh air, enjoy the picturesque countryside of Mekong Delta and a truly relaxing getaway from Saigon’s madding crowds. You will be met at the hotel by your personal tour guide with driver and modern air-conditioned vehicle, for your drive around the south of Saigon city, through South Vietnamese countryside to the boat station at My Tho where you embark on your private Mekong River boat. Your first destination is Unicorn Islet where you will enjoy “Đờn Ca Tài Tử”, the authentic local music of the area which is recognized by UNESCO as a Vietnamese cultural heritage – perhaps at the same time, you can enjoy fruits of the season, some unique to the area. Taking a leisurely walk you visit a bee ‘farm’ at Orchid Garden to see how locals extract honey from beehives, tasting home-made hot sweet honey tea with a welcome into their home. We visit another local family where you learn how to make chocolate from coco-beans. These are genuine Mekong families speaking little or no English, working and living today as they have done for generations. We return to your Mekong riverboat passing paddy fields and vegetable farms to coconut island where, as the name suggests, you see coconut products being made – the hot coconut candy is really worth a try! Private Cu Chi Tunnel Half-day Tour
In order to be protected from French occupation in the 1940s, Communist guerrilla troops known as Viet Cong dug tens thousands of miles of tunnels with their bare hands and simple tools and further expanded during the American War in the 1960s. It is famous for being used as a hideout for surprise attacks against the American and their allied troops in the Vietnam War. This huge network underground tunnels in Viet Nam which have been preserved by the Viet Nam government and has become a popular tourist attraction. Our private half-day tour starts at your hotel lobby in Saigon (HCM City) and in our modern air-conditioned vehicle, my professional driver takes us to the entrance of this amazing site. We can make comfort stops to freshen-up if required. Before going underground, a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed will be given. Then, we spend time exploring the maze of tunnels including the secret cellar-door, museum of self-made weapons, shooting range, garment-factory ammunition, and tunnels to learn the struggles of life in wartime Vietnam firsthand and see how soldiers and civilians lived through the conflicts and the ingenious methods used to conceal themselves. Private Saigon ‘Highlights’ Tour
We drive into Saigon’s Chợ Lớn area after your hotel check-out. Our first destination is Chinatown and the old Thien Hau temple where you gain wonderful insights into our customs and religions. This is followed by a trishaw (Ricshaw) ride to the centre of Saigon (if the weather is nice enough) through small alleys and markets to discover all the hidden gems of the city. This is truly memorable as you experience the genuine ‘local side’ of Saigon life. There is nothing we love more than food. Life is too short for cold sandwiches and disappointing microwaved leftovers for lunch. Time to kiss them goodbye and enjoy authentic Southern Vietnamese delicacies. After lunch, we continue our private tour with some sightseeing at top attractions in Saigon city including the Reunification Hall, War Remnants Museum, the Central Post Office, Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral (outside only as it’s going through complete renovation inside).
