A trip to Vietnam can’t be fully complete without spending some time in Mỹ Tho City. My Tho is the closest destinations (70 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City) and the best area to catch a breath of fresh air, enjoy the picturesque countryside of Mekong Delta and a truly relaxing getaway from Saigon’s madding crowds.
You will be met at the hotel by your personal tour guide with driver and modern air-conditioned vehicle, for your drive around the south of Saigon city, through South Vietnamese countryside to the boat station at My Tho where you embark on your private Mekong River boat.
Your first destination is Unicorn Islet where you will enjoy “Đờn Ca Tài Tử”, the authentic local music of the area which is recognized by UNESCO as a Vietnamese cultural heritage – perhaps at the same time, you can enjoy fruits of the season, some unique to the area.

Taking a leisurely walk you visit a bee ‘farm’ at Orchid Garden to see how locals extract honey from beehives, tasting home-made hot sweet honey tea with a welcome into their home.
We visit another local family where you learn how to make chocolate from coco-beans. These are genuine Mekong families speaking little or no English, working and living today as they have done for generations.

We return to your Mekong riverboat passing paddy fields and vegetable farms to coconut island where, as the name suggests, you see coconut products being made – the hot coconut candy is really worth a try! And during your visit lunch is taken at an authentic local restaurant!
During your private Mekong Delta tour, you will be offered a choice of beautiful Vietnamese food and drink at excellent local restaurants if required, and at the end of your memorable day, you will be returned safely to your hotel.
