A beautiful city made more enchanting by the lovely xiantu
Seldom does it happen that u tour a place and u feel so happy that u wish the day wouldn’t end. That’s the experience of sightseeing DANANG and HOI AN with the lovely Xuan Tu. Her excitement and cheerful and friendly attitude is palapable and infectious and instantly comforting from the word go. It feels like touring the place with a friend uve known for long . Truly the flavours of the city be it the food or places are wonderful but to actually experience them through a local tour guide especially the way Xuan Tu plans your itenary with ease is unforgettably enriching and an everlasting memory… We as a family felt happy and satisfied and completely at home through out the entire 10+Hrs that she made us savour all the exciting and wonderful delights the lovely comfortably paced tour had to offer. She pays attention to small details with the knowledge that makes u feel “it couldn’t have been better “. Kudos to her and her company for all the effort . Thank you Xuan Tu from my whole family for a everlasting beautiful memory of to quote ..in your words ” My Beautiful City Danang “. — Traveller: vineet2016 from Tripadvisor
Less than positive experience
We booked the day tour to Hoi An for 65usd upon the fantastic reviews despite it being more expensive than other local tours. The morning of the tour we were told that Hoi An was flooded and the places inaccessible. We choose to postpone the tour to the next day since this was genuinely an unforeseen circumstance. To cut the long story short, we went on the tour but was told the first half day of the itinerary was again inaccessible. We could not take the cruise or visit any of the villages listed in the itinerary. We were told There was no other places we could go. It became a shopping trip at Hoi An only and the only other place was the silk factory on land after we asked again on options. The weather was not the company’s fault. We just felt that more could be done as it was our first trip to Vietnam and we picked the #1 ranked tour hoping for a premium experience. We took a cab to Hoi An again on our own and the taxi fare was only 750,000 dong return. We must admit that we are disappointed based on our own experience. — Traveller: HappyTravelerSarah from Tripadvisor
An Amazing Experience
My husband and I toured Hoi An and Da Nang with Xuan Tu, James and Lam. The 2 day tour included the old city, temples, river cruise, work shops, Vietnam villages, Marble Mountain, a food tour and lots of interesting information about Vietnam history and culture. We packed a lot into the 2 days and had so much fun. If you really want to connect with local people, dive into Vietnamese culture, laugh and have a fantastic time, this tour is for you. I can’t pick a favourite part because it was just so enjoyable from start to finish. Marble Mountain turned out to be a very special experience for my husband, and for him, the highlight of our two weeks in Vietnam. I can’t thank Xuan Tu, James and Lam enough for making our trip to Da Nang so memorable. — Traveller: Sue_says_hi from Tripadvisor
Best Day Trip Ever with Yam and James!!!
My friend and I loved our ten hour tour of Hoi An with these gentlemen. We were on a very tight schedule so seeing a lot in one day was exactly what we hoped for and Yam and James delivered! We met numerous local families who all warmly greeted us and showed us there handicrafts as well as let us try them ourselves, We ate amazing food at local hot spots that we would have never known about without these guys, including a place Anthony Bourdain visited…and yes , it was delicious! We learned so much about the culture of Vietnam and especially Hoi An. They joked and laughed with us all day, they taught us how to say many phrases in Vietnamese, introduced us to local beers and desserts, and even helped us negotiate on some souvenirs! It rained almost the whole day but their smiles and ours never wavered because they brought so much good spirit to our long days adventure. I would recommend a day with them to absolutely everyone visiting Hoi An or Da Nang! Did I mention that James will serenade you with songs the whole ride home? He even takes requests! No fortune teller needed, tour with them and you WILL have a blast! — Traveller: bbingold from Tripadvisor
It’s like visiting the towns with old friends
This is truly my first time ever writing a review online. We spent a day touring Da Nang (morning) and Hoi An (afternoon). We spent approximately 10 hours with James and Lam. We were a diverse group of 7, age ranged from 5 to 65 and bilingual (English and Vietnamese). This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Vietnam. Of course, Da Nang and Hoi An are beautiful but I think our tour guides made it truly special. Booking was easy. Xuan Tu was efficient and very professional. I booked the day before by calling the number on TripAdvisor (although I would recommend calling earlier as they’re busy). I did not compare rate to other company’s but overall thought it was very reasonable. Our rate included a 16 person nice/AC van, water, a driver, and TWO bilingual tour guides. It worked out for us well because at times, the guides were giving tour in two languages simultaneously. James and Lam were a lot of fun to be around! I was struck by their love for the country and their genuine joy in showing us their towns. They were personable, caring, attentive, not intrusive, extremely flexible, and knowledgeable. We had two young kids (5 & 8) and my mother with us but they managed to guide us at a pace that felt comfortable for all. We did not have an agenda and basically told the guides to take us to places that they thought we should see. They took us to beautiful sites, delicious restaurants, helped us bargain for items, entertained our kids, and even sang. If you tour with James, you MUST ask him to sing. It sounds random but it was an experience in and of itself. When I think about Da Nang and Hoi An now, I’ll definitely be reminiscing about our dear “friends” James and Lam. Thank you Xuan Tu and gang! — Traveller: BostonBunch from Tripadvisor
