Ba Na Hills day tour
We booked a private tour to Ba Na Hills for our 1st day in Da Nang. With Mr Lam from Xuan Tu Tours, the day was well utilized! He was so nice and friendly, and made me feel as if I had a friend I knew for years here, welcoming me when I was going to visit his town. Our flight landed at 9am and picked up by Mr Lam from airport and suggested us to a small local, yet gave you authentic taste, restaurant having pho as breakfast to start the day. This is a good move or else we could be starved on the way we arrived there (it took almost 1.5 hours for car to reach the cable car station and then the cable car). At Ba Na Hills we had a lot of fun and memories as Mr Lam showed us what we could do there. For a couple to go travels, it’s always great to have someone to take photos for you whenever you wish to, especially when there were lots of places worth doing so. We found the time flies during long queue for a ride because Mr Lam was talkative and was able to share with you about the background and history of each place in Da Nang, people’s lives there, and even Hong Kong my home town! Through chatting all day, Mr Lam knew that we had a list of souvenirs to grab and thus after we left Ba Na Hills, he took us to a local market (Con Market) and bought a lot like Durian cakes, coffee cracker, coffee mugs, etc. I couldn’t see how I can get there without him: First the traffic during rush hours made us so difficult to cross the road without his help; Second though it’s easy to find Con Market appearing in the Internet as one of the suggested checkpoints in Da Nang, it’s not easy for foreigners to talk to the local people when you have a question about the content or the price. Before we close the day, Mr Lam knew that we might have difficulties to have our dinner since there was not much near our hotel and was quite far away from the city centre. He took us to another restaurant for local people which we enjoyed a lot as it gave me another experience of local’s life and a genuine taste of local food. The best way to get to know this place!
We booked a private day trip to Hue before our arrival. Heard that it takes 2 hours to Hue from Da Nang, so was a bit worried about such long-distance transportation, but our tour guide, Miss An, made this trip so wonderful! An can speak Chinese quite fluently, and thanks to her, we now know more about the history of Vietnam, which goes far beyond our expectations! Also, An took good care of us since she picked us up from the hotel. For example, they noticed if the bottled water is cool enough for us, as it’s quite hot outside. They also brought us to the local market for tasting local cuisine with very reasonable price! My family was very satisfied with this 2-day tours and the memory surely lasts a lifetime.The unforgettable trip was made possible by our amazing guide, Hậu. We quickly felt very comfortable with her, like a long lost family member. 😀 Everyone can tell she is passionate about her job (and her city Da Nang), cheerful, proactive, and has such a great attitude. Hậu managed to complete our whole itinerary and beyond, the pace of the tour was just perfect for us. She is more than knowledgeable and quickly catches on things. We now feel like a local given all the story/history/information she’s providing and the way she communicates it in an engaging way! Her food recommendations are the bomb! She genuinely introduced us to all the authentic local food, great taste, and inexpensive. She was also very patient to be our photographer. Bottom line is, Hậu is very sincere, super flexible, resourceful, and she would go out of her way to accommodate your needs and make sure you have the best holiday ever. We’d like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to her for everything. We love you, em gái! Moreover, our car was super clean, very spacious, and safely driven by Cuong. We were provided with many bottles of cold water. The air conditioner was always turned on before we got on. The most incredible way to experience local culture and people.
To say that Xuan Tu and her team do an amazing job is an understatement. From the moment you are greeted with the most beautiful smiles, you feel like you are the most important person around. Our party of 9 ranged in age from 8 years to 70 years and each and everyone was made to feel special. The beauty of this private tour is that if you want to spend more time somewhere, you can. If you want to see particular things, Xuan Tu will incorporate this into your personal itinerary without any problems. We even requested to go on a night trip around Da Nang on scooters. It was done along with enjoying some of the most amazing Street food enjoyed with Xuan Tu and her team. We were treated like family and the attention to detail and to us was second to none.
