Because of Xuan Tu, I created an account in Tripadvisor to appreciate her
Before going to Da Nang, I was a little bit worried about the language barrier, and particularly I was travelling with my parents who are in their 60s. Things started to get solved as soon as I wrote to Xuan Tu as her English gave me confidence and she had a lot of ideas taking care of all my considerations. I try my best not to repeat what the other comments have mentioned. On the day of arrival, our flight was exceptionally full and we spent more than half hour for immigration and another half hour for luggage clearance. I knew she had been waiting for us for more than 1.5 hours at the airport but she still gave us a big welcome and greeted us with smiles. Xuan Tu is very experienced and professional. She listened to our request and customised our trip. On the first day, we had a special request to find a local friend but we lost contact with him for decades. We just had very limited information but she proactively helped us to ask a number of local people. The process was not easy but after almost an hour, she could really make it! It’s really amazing! A BIG thanks to her professionalism and passion. We also requested her to take us for local food but not the “Westernised” Vietnamese food to fit the taste of Western people and she immediately understood our request. The food she brought us was amazing and very local, eating in a local way and often we were the only tourists inside the shop. Well done! This was exactly what we wanted. One day when we wanted to have a day trip in Hoi An, unfortunately, Xuan Tu got sick but she managed to find her friend to do the tour for us. As she wanted us to understand more about Hoi An, for our best benefit, she found her friend who was born in Hoi An. He could explain to us anything related to Hoi An. He was not in any way worse than Xuan Tu. He could also take good care of my parents. As it was better to commute by motorcycles and bicycles for part of the tour to save time, energy with a more local experience while I was not sure whether my parents could handle them well. He carefully planned the trip and let me parents try step by step. My parents turned out saying that it was the happiest moment in the trip. I also appreciate the driver, Tuong, who drove carefully despite of roads full of motorcycles. I used to be worried sitting on a speeding car but I could hardly catch a moment over the speed limit. The car was not a high-class one but my parents said that it was easier for them to get in and out of the car (maybe Xuan Tu’s special arrangement for my parents?) with better air-conditioning than the local taxis. Tuong is also a cheerful person. Together with Xuan Tu, it was a trip full of fun. Xuan Tu is detailed minded and all the things were very well planned. She is also flexible and adaptive. She is able to react according to different situations. I could hardly find anything to complain. I strongly recommend Xuan Tu no matter you are travelling Vietnam in couples or in groups, with kids, teens or elderly. Without her, our trip could hardly be so enjoyable, smooth and unforgettable. I used to travel few times a year and she is the best tour guide I have ever met. P.S. Our stay in Da Nang and Hoi An was 7 days but Xuan Tu’s schedule was so full that she could only spare 2.5 days with us even though I contacted her almost one month ahead. — Traveller: Panacea568 from TripadvisorĀ
DaNang // Hoi An Tour
XuanTu provided the best tour a college aged foreigner (American) could ask for! I have been in DaNang for two weeks, and by far was this the best day I have had in the city. XuanTu provided a joyful attitude the entire 12 hours we were together, and she always thought about her customers (or now friends!) before anything else! She has such great sense of humor and charm that people any ages can relate to her. She is loving, caring, happy, curious, and a GREAT listener!! Her knowledge of the sites in DaNang and Hoi An was very impressive. She provide me with a lot of great information that I would have really struggled to put together myself. Plus, she also is a great barginer so you can get the lowest price possible for any gifts you may want to purchase, and has a very good eye for amazing food venders! I also should mentioned that all XuanTo provides is (currently) in a passionate 23 year old woman. She has such amazing life goals she she is working really hard for (currently 7 days a week for 10 – 12 hours a day). I would HIGHLY recommend XuanTu as your tour guide for any trips you may want to learn about! — Traveller: Andrew V from TripadvisorĀ
Excellent tour guide, highly recommended
Guys, if you’re ever in Da Nang and/or Hoi An, book Xuan Tu as your private tour guide, and book her weeks in advance. She’s very popular, and for good reasons! Not only is she knowledgeable, but she also has a great sense of humour. Sometimes a bit cheeky š but definitely in a good way. One thing I’d like to mention is how uderstanding she was when I had to cancel our first day tour. I was scheduled to arrive in Da Nang at 9am, so I booked Xuan Tu for half a day starting from 3pm. Unfortunately, my MEL-HKG flight leg was 15 minutes late and the connecting leg HKG-DAD decided to leave me behind (no thanks, Cathay Pacific…). There was no more HKG-DAD flight that day, so Cathay sent me to HCMC/Saigon to catch a Vietnam Airlines flight from HCMC to Da Nang. I found out that flight was scheduled to arrive in Da Nang at 3pm, so I called Xuan Tu to cancel our 1st day tour and apologise. Not only was she sympathetic about my plight, but she also offered to meet me in the evening for a get-to-know-you session. I was so pleasantly surprised, I bought her dinner – that was the least I could have done after my last-minute cancellation! So Xuan Tu, thank you for being a lovely tour guide. I hope to see you again very soon and I wish you all the best. (As a side note, dear readers, if you’re flying from Melbourne to Da Nang, do NOT book the Cathay Pacific evening flight. The connecting time is so tight, if your MEL-HKG leg is more than 10 minutes late – which a lot of flights are – you’re probably going to have to go through what I went through.) — Traveller: hi_its_stef from TripadvisorĀ
Fantastic guide – could not have been better
We spent a incredible 3 days with Tu, her English was excellent, she toured us around Da Nang, Hoi An and My Son, giving us all an appreciation we never could have gotten on our own, we gained so much knowledge, so many memories that we will carry forever. She was very lovely and passionate about her country, her professionalism, expert, knowledge, and adorable personality combined to create an incredible three days we never wanted to end. Thank you so much Tu. I hope you continue as our guide for when we return ! — Traveller: Dirks0110 from TripadvisorĀ
Just what I wanted!
This is my first visit to Da Nang. Got to know Xuan Tu from Trip advisor. Wanted to visit the villages to appreciate local culture and living. She recommended Cam Kim village and took me on her motorbike As this is my first time on a bike, she was very quick to calm my nerves and gave me tips as a pillion rider. it helps when Da Nang’s roads are not as busy as HCM or Hanoi, Very soon I found myself very comfortable and well adjusted to enjoy the ride and beautiful sceneries Thoroughly enjoyed the half day outing! — Traveller: floquah from TripadvisorĀ
