It’s like visiting the towns with old friends
This is truly my first time ever writing a review online. We spent a day touring Da Nang (morning) and Hoi An (afternoon). We spent approximately 10 hours with James and Lam. We were a diverse group of 7, age ranged from 5 to 65 and bilingual (English and Vietnamese). This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our 2 week stay in Vietnam. Of course, Da Nang and Hoi An are beautiful but I think our tour guides made it truly special. Booking was easy. Xuan Tu was efficient and very professional. I booked the day before by calling the number on TripAdvisor (although I would recommend calling earlier as they’re busy). I did not compare rate to other company’s but overall thought it was very reasonable. Our rate included a 16 person nice/AC van, water, a driver, and TWO bilingual tour guides. It worked out for us well because at times, the guides were giving tour in two languages simultaneously. James and Lam were a lot of fun to be around! I was struck by their love for the country and their genuine joy in showing us their towns. They were personable, caring, attentive, not intrusive, extremely flexible, and knowledgeable. We had two young kids (5 & 8) and my mother with us but they managed to guide us at a pace that felt comfortable for all. We did not have an agenda and basically told the guides to take us to places that they thought we should see. They took us to beautiful sites, delicious restaurants, helped us bargain for items, entertained our kids, and even sang. If you tour with James, you MUST ask him to sing. It sounds random but it was an experience in and of itself. When I think about Da Nang and Hoi An now, I’ll definitely be reminiscing about our dear “friends” James and Lam. A day with tommy
We had a truly rich, authentic and complete tour with Tommy. Everything was perfect. If you are in danang/hoi an don’t hesitate in hiring tomy or anyone from the team as they take you through a really unique experience. 5 stars is not enough. — Traveller: Felipe G from Tripadvisor
Da Nang and Hoi An tour
Anthony was our full day tour guide. Great guy! Informative and entertaining. We saw all the Sites of Da Nang and then got off the beaten track to “Long’s” local Vietnamese coffee cafe. We love coffee! 2nd half comprised of delicious baguette lunch and Hoi An Ancient town. Anthony knows where to go. We highly recommend this tour company and Anthony as your guide. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip yesterday. Our host, Xuan Tu was perfect. We were only here for two days, yet it felt like we really got a glimpse into Vietnamese culture. She was extremely imformative. She certainly knows her stuff!! Would highly recommend her for anyone travelling to Da Nang. She was amazing. Thank you Xuan and happy birthday!! — Traveller: Meghan W from Tripadvisor
Forget a Tour Bus!
We’re actually not the type to go on organized tours. Instead, we like to do research, talk to people, and figure things out on our own. But we had limited time and wanted to make the most of our one day in Da Nang, so decided to hire a private tour guide. Boy were we glad we did. Our tour was with Tommy, Xuan Tu’s colleague. He and our driver picked us up in Hue and took us to our hotel in Da Nang. Tommy is great fun to be around. The drive was pleasant, fun and informative. After some time to freshen up, our tour resumed. We saw all the usual sites, but the bonus for us were the intimate local ones — the coffee shop and restaurants we would never have gone to without someone to guide us. The only downside is that we only had one day! We didn’t get to visit Hoi An, Tommy’s home town, or some of the other places that seemed so amazing. When we return — and we will — Xuan Tu and Tommy will be the first people we call. — Traveller: Yvonne M from Tripadvisor
