Great 2 days in Hoi An

We loved our tours with Danang Private Tours. On our first day in Hoi An, James took us on an adventure to Cam Kim island. We learned so much about the history of Vietnam and the day to day lives of people in the countryside surrounding Hoi An. After our bike ride, he led us around the city of Hoi An, giving us tips on how to bargain with local merchants and showing us many of the charming shops and sites. This visit wholly shaped our experience in Vietnam. We loved the tour so much that we booked another tour with Danang Private Tours. Tommy led our second tour – a half day trip to My Son – where we learned about Vietnam’s ethnic diversity and Champa history. Tommy answered our endless questions about Vietnam and its people. His English was superb and he had a great sense of humor. We loved our time with him so much we asked him if he could take our family out for some karaoke. 🙂 For both Tommy and James, their English was great and their demeanor was incredibly warm and welcoming. Many jokes, great food, lots of laughs. I highly recommend Danang Private Tours. Julie, Maren, Bryn and Molly McMullan — Traveller: FunJulie from Tripadvisor

Amazing Hoi An tour guide and tour!!!

Can honestly say that Lam is the best tour guide we have ever experienced throughout South East Asia and Australia. He was extremely knowledgeable, attentive and inclusive to all in the group. Lam openly engaged and entertained our 11yr old daughter and 13 year old son, no easy task. His personality, humour and love for his country and people was clear throughout the whole day. Our side trip to the rural Cam Kim Island allowed us to cycle through rice fields and communities to absorb more of what Vietnam is all about. The 2 families we visited on the Island openingly welcomed our family of 4 into theirs. We were able to observe and all participate in making rice paper and noodles in two separate homes. The idea that our tour went a small way to helping those families was a great feeling for us and also to Lam. Lam was willing to take photos of our family at any attraction. Everything ran smoothly, Lam was early for our hotel pickup, in between excursions we did not have to wait for our driver or boats. His knowledge of Hoi An was amazing and love for his job (Da NAng and Hoi An) was truly apparent. The best tour ever. — Traveller: Geoffrey B from Tripadvisor

Excellent

We had a day out with Lam, great guide and made us feel very comfortable. started with a coffee in Da Nang’s local coffee bar, marble mountain, lunch at a local café that was lovely, visited the locals who were making noodle and rugs. Then off to Hoi An for a look around and the crème de la crème a night visit to the lady budda that was jaw dropping !! All the time had lam to hand who took care of everything and saw to our every need. The car driver was very professional as well, top rate chauffer. defiantly would recommend to use these guys they love what they do and make sure you love the time with them. Best homestay experience ever!

My parents and I are having the most wonderful homestay experience ever at Mai’s Homestay! We have been tremendously blessed by Xuan Tu’s family in so many ways. Xuan Tu, her mother, Mrs Mai, and her cousin, Lam, had been extremely hospitable and friendly. From the moment we stepped into their house, we have felt so welcomed and at home. We are extremely impressed by their spirit of excellence in giving their best to ensure the comfort for all their guests and hosting us so well. We expected something a little more rugged however we were pleasantly surprised by the simple but beautifully furnished rooms which were clean and well equipped, just like a hotel room with a homely touch to it. When Xuan Tu asked if we slept well, my dad casually commented that the bed was a little hard and so he wasn’t very used to it. Much to our surprise, Xuan Tu actually went to buy mattress toppers for all our beds, just so that we could have good sleep in our stay here. Her effort to go beyond what is required of her truly amazes us and this is just one of the examples of how she always goes an extra mile for her guests. Xuan Tu and her family also constantly ensures that we are well taken care of e.g. Calling taxis for us, giving us useful advice, recommending places we can visit or eat at and just being available when we need any help, which is really comforting when we are in a foreign country and do not speak Vietnamese. We also enjoyed our cooking class with Mrs Mai where we learnt how to cook authentic home cooked Vietnamese food. The experience of going to the local wet market and cooking all the delicious food has been beyond wonderful. We also enjoyed the daily authentic breakfast Mrs Mai cooks with so much effort and love. We are just in the midst of our trip and to be honest, we look forward to the delicious breakfast everyday 😛 It has been the most pleasant homestay where we really feel like part of Xuan Tu’s family. We enjoy chit chatting with Xuan Tu’s family as well as Dennis and Davies (other guests) where we have learnt so much about each other’s cultures and lives. We are truly blessed to have met Xuan Tu’s family and we are looking forward to the next 2 days of immersing more into their wonderful culture. At the end of this trip, I’m sure we can really say Mai’s home is My home, for this place will always have a special place in our hearts. :”) — Traveller: vicckkkyyyyy from Tripadvisor

Genialer Tag in Hoi An!

Be sure that you don’t miss the “hoanh than” and the “che bot bang”! — Traveller: Cathleen_auf_Reisen from Tripadvisor
