Amazing Tour of Da Nang and Hoi An with Thuy and Thu
I just finished the 50/50 Da Nang and Hoi An tour with Thuy and Thu, and I had a great time! They were both very friendly, and spoke perfect English. We visited highlights of the area including the Linh Ung Pagoda, My Khe Beach, Marble Mountains, and the Ancient Town of Hoi An. My favorite parts of the tour were visiting the local markets and restaurants, though. Thuy and Thu helped me try many delicious local fruits that I can’t get back home, as well as local delicacies like Mi Quang and Cao Lau! They also took me to Anthony Bourdain’s favorite Banh Mi shop in Hoi An, and told me about the delicious iced herbal tea they grew in the Ancient town. Yum, so good! Wonderful tour in Hoi An with Thuy and Xuan Tu Tours
Our cruise ship docked in Da Nang and Thuy met us promptly for our trip to Hoi An. It was a wonderful day. First we toured the market, then took a boat to a village famous for wood carving. Be careful on the “monkey bridge”, a balance beam exit from the boat! We also watched a craftsman creating mother of pearl inlay wood items, visited a house to see someone weave reed mats (and try it ourselves), and enjoyed a rice paper snack after watching how both rice paper and rice noodles were made. We had an interesting discussion about American politics as we munched. I spotted a clothing store and spent quite a lot of time there. Thuy and the shop girl held a curtain to create a dressing room and we laughed a lot as I tried on clothes. We had told them we were vegetarian and had a choice of two veg restaurants next door to each other. We saw the more standard tourist sites in Hoi An as well. Excellent private tour catering to your needs!
If you want a tour without waiting for everyone else, choose Xuan Tu Tours! Our guide was Tran. Tran was excellent, full of energy and is easy to talk to, and she is a wealth of knowledge. Not only is she fun to be with, she can speak Mandarin and is an excellent singer! Their drivers are professional and their mode of transport is clean and comfortable. Xuan is able to cater their trip to what you want out of your time in Danang and Hoi An. IF food is your passions, Tran our tour guide would take you the the local eateries in between your tour. We did the Hue tour/airport transfers and it was so much fun! She would even help you get a good bargain if you are buying souvenirs of local fruit. Thumbs up to Xuan Tu Tours and Lam
We joined a day tour to Hoi An departing from Da Nang and it was nothing short of amazing ! We were greeted first thing in the morning by our fantastic guide turned friend Lam at our hotel lobby, and our tour brought us to the fun basket boat rides in the coconut village to the historic old town of Hoi An, with a serene lunch in between at a local vegetable farm. Lam spoke fluent English with an incredible sense of humor and was knowledgeable in detailing the history and information of each stop along the way. He even brought us to experience the local culture through walks in the alley ways to street food tasting which we would never have done by ourselves.
