Nice developing city
We got out from our cruise ship early morning and met our guide Lam just outside the main gate. With good English skill, Lam took us to vist a few attraction in the city Da Nang and Hoi An – in a air con van, an intern from the company, Edward also gave us many details of the cities. Unlimited cold bottle water really appreciated in the whole trip as it was a pretty hot day. After a good lunch in a local restaurant with Lam and Edward, we then head to the old town in Hoi An which is a pedestrian only town. Many old buildings and shops still in good conditions. Overall this was a well worth visit with these two experience guides. — Traveller: Kwok W from TripadvisorĀ
Tour of Hue with Quan
Quan gave us a fun and wonderful tour of Hue. We saw so many historical sites which Quan was extremely knowledgeable about. As other reviewers have mentioned, Quan is very funny, personable and extremely professional. Despite the heat, Quan accommodated all of our requests and made many roadside stops for food and snacks. Needless to say, we will ask for Quan again when we come back to Vietnam. My biggest regret is that we couldn’t book him for a Hoi An / Danang tour! Check out our “we-fie” at the Imperial Palace. — Traveller: LC456 from TripadvisorĀ
Superb tour + brilliant home stay!
We had a fantastic experience on our tour of Hoi An. Quan is a personable and knowledgeable guide who really brought the beautiful and romantic town of Hoi An to life for us. We visited the market, took a boat tour to one of the islands and visited local families who make thin rice wrappers used in Vietnamese cuisine and sleeping mats out of grass. It really provided a fascinating insight into the everyday lives of local people. All in all it was a brilliant day out and incredibly god value for money! Little did we know that the best was yet to come! It turns out that the same young lady who runs the tours – the vivacious and charming Xuan Tu (I hope I spelled her name correctly) – also operates a homestay in Da Nang. Our time at the homestay was easily the most memorable time of our entire 3-week stay in Vietnam! Xuan Tu, her brother Lam and her mother Tho really made us feel part of the family at their lovely house. The rooms themselves are great, all with an en suite bathroom, large flat-screen TV and a large comfortable bed. But it was the family themselves who made our stay so memorable. We visited the local market with Tho, who then let us help her make a delicious Vietnamese dinner. Lam took us around to his favourite restaurants and cafes, the sorts of places that no tourist would ever be able to find on their own. And Xuan Tu utterly charmed us the whole time with her cheeky sense of humour and non-stop joking. Words cannot express just how charming this family is. We had one memorable dinner together with the family and some of our friends, culminating in a raucous karaoke party that saw us belting out classic songs at the top of our lungs while drinking copious amounts of Tiger beer on ice. Brilliant memories!! If you are planning to visit Da Nang and/or Hoi An, then do yourself a favour and get in touch with them. And if at all possible, stay at their homestay in Da Nang. If you’re anything like us, you’ll be so sad when the time comes to say good-bye. On the other hand, you’ll be smiling because you’ll already be planning your next trip to Vietnam. Delightful tour with Tommy
We thoroughly enjoyed our shore excursion to Da Nang/ Hoi An with Tommy. Tommy, being a native of Hoi An, gave us great insight into the history of this beautiful area. Not just a cut and dry guide he had a wonderful sense of humour which we really appreciated. Hoi An is truly beautiful and charming. Our trip to the spectacular Marble Mountain was very enjoyable too. Tommy also took us to a local eatery where the food was delicious and reasonably priced. A very local experience. He paced the tour according to our needs and was very patient when we strayed:-) Hope you are lucky enough to have Tommy for your guide. As for the tour company, Xuan Tu was very prompt in replying to all my inquiries. Her website is very well laid out especially with information for shore excursions ( as we did). One of the main reasons we booked with her. I highly recommend this company. Thorough and professional. — Traveller: travellingaround208 from TripadvisorĀ
Fantastic tour of Hoi An
Our guide, Tommy and his driver picked us up from Chan May Port. From there, it was about a 90 minute drive to Hoi An via Da Nang. He took us to a local village known for their boat building and woodworking skills, we visited a family who made rice paper and noodles for sale at the local market (and had the opportunity to try our hand at it). Afterwards, we had a splendid lunch in Hoi An, followed by an extensive walking tour of Ancient Town. Tommy is native to the area, has excellent English skills and was very knowledgeable about the local area and its history Our tour was customized to our exact needs and wants. We were picked up and dropped off at the exact times requested, and traveled in a beautiful late model SUV. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a bespoke private tour in the Hoi An/Da Nang area! — Traveller: TommTommN from TripadvisorĀ
