Xuan the best

I booked Xuan due to good reviews, all we can say she was excellent and gives out vast information. I informed her that 8 of us are deaf thus sign language is our first language and explained about our wheelchair user friend.

On the first day, I mentioned how we communicate with previous tour guides in Hanoi and Hue, without hesitate she stopped the driver outside the stationery shop and bought two white boards and pen at her expense and bought 8 in the following day :-). She immediately writing down details of the plan, we never seen her write so fast and her English is pretty good. On the first day, she led us to a short ferry to Cam KIm island, she ensured one of our wheelchair user friend has access to the ferry, two staff from the ferry made no hesitate forming a ramp using two wooden planks, visiting the island was worth visiting. Back to the mainland, little did we know that Xuan surprise us visit a superb The Reaching Out Teahouse that employs 8 deaf Vietnamese in the heart of beautiful Hoi An, we were so excited and they did too, the tea room was so tranquil, We had their traditional tea and coffee served with super homemade biscuits. We were in awe how deaf staff communicate with hearing customers, we highly recommend anyone to go there and we became great friends with two of them whom we are now in contact. Xuan was fantastic ensuring we enjoyed the 2 days trip including My Son’s sanctuary, a vast history of Champa and Shiva, we also visited Lady Buddha on Marble Mountain in Da Nang. Thank you Xuan for being a wonderful tour guide and being a great friend, you have learnt a lot from us and vice versa

Experience the Real Vietnam with Friendly Local Guide

Xuan Tu is very friendly and will instantly make you feel comfortable in Vietnam. I had a limited amount of time in Da Nang and had to catch a flight later that afternoon. She was able to create an itinerary where I was able to see both the real Vietnam and the tourist sights in a less than a full day. She picked me up at my hotel early morning and we were off to Hoi An. We started with a authentic baguette sandwich from the restaurant famous for having the best baguette by Anthony Bourdain in a recent episode of No Reservations. Xuan Tu then had bikes waiting for us and we boarded a ferry to Cam Kim Island to see the real Vietnam. We cycled around Cam Kim Island, past rice paddy fields and water buffalo, while experiencing the local culture. We also stopped to visit local artisan woodcarvers making shipping boats & handicrafts, an ancient temple and a local family’s home who makes rice paper & noodles for their livelihood. After a lovely ride around Cam Kim Island, we boarded the ferry back to Hoi An where we then experienced this ancient city with its interesting historical and cultural sights. I highly recommend a tour with Xuan Tu. She is an extremely bright & friendly guide with a great appreciation and knowledge of her local Vietnamese culture. Having lived in Australia and planning to return to further study tourism, she also has a global perspective which allows her to connect international tourists with the local culture. I throughly enjoyed my visit to Hoi An and Cam Kim Island with Xuan Tu. She has also begun offering tours throughout Vietnam so one day I hope to return and experience more of the Vietnam countryside.

A Must!!!!! You want to adopt her as your sister/daughter/cousin when you’re done! She’s the best!

Talk about a fantastic day in Hoi An. We emailed a couple weeks before our trip to Vietnam. We was extremely fast in her responses and presented an itinerary right away as a starting point. The moment she picked us up at our Hotel in Hoi An with a driver she charmed us with her knowledge and love for what she does. She speaks excellent English as she spent a year in university in Australia. We started with a bicycle tour across Hoi An to a small island where we saw the old art of boat building. We then continued on the island to the local temple where we met the eldest member. Very interesting and great history of the island. We continued onto a local family who makes rice paper and rice noodles out of their house. This was amazing. We really had a great time here and learned a lot of this families work ethic and local culture. We got to sample after over some iced tea and it was delicious. After we returned to Hoi An for some lunch. She bought us to a local food vender who had fantastic friend wontons (Hoanh Thanh) Cao Loa, Banh vac (White Rose). @ Mr Son. Absolutely delicious. She was so knowledgeable of the people and the area. You felt like you were in the best history class ever with food! We continued walking through Hoi An and learned about the Chinese and Japanese influence on this great port throughout the last 200 years. Amazing how Hoi An was such a melting pot and large trading post over the years. There are lovely shops and so many great food places. We continued walking through and she brought us to the best Banh Mi sandwich location in Hoi An which was featured on “No Reservations w/ Anthony Bourdain” – Yes they were amazing. We continued around and didn’t return back to our hotel until about 730pm at night. Xuan was fantastic. My wife loved her and we cant say enough nice things about her. Highly recommend her if you wish to have a great day in Hoi An. We would do it again in a heart beat next time we are in Hoi An. We had a blast!!

Here’s to Xuantu!

In January 2015 our small party of three friends, all of us older women, toured Hoi An and My Son with Xuan Tu. As others have already observed, Xuan Tu is, indeed, an extraordinary young woman. Besides her knowledge, energy, and profound love for Vietnam and its people, Xuan Tu shared her own story with us. We may not remember all the details in the wealth of information she imparted, but we will never forget Xuantu, her big heart, and her open mind and spirit.

Insightful, patient, accommodating.

Xuan Tu is an amazing young lady. We were a party 4 with ages between 5 to 75 and did two trips with her. Honestly without her I would not have been able to manage the different needs of our group. Having done private tours in other places/ countries I can safely say that she is the best I have come across. Dependable, honest, patient & accommodating.

Our first trip was to Cam kim island & the Hoi An Ancient town. Her local insights and recommendations for souvenirs & food were excellent and of good value. We thoroughly enjoyed her company and tasted very authentic local food. We saw a side of Hoi An that we would have not seen with the usual generic tours.

Our other trip with a van ( and a kind driver) was to Danang. Again she brought us to tasty local eats apart from visiting the usual spots. I really enjoyed the down time we had on the Eastern beach where we just chatted about life while my 5 year old played with sand. It’s rare to make friends with your tour guide.

We had the best time. Thank you Xuan Tu.
