We were a party of two moms and three teenage boys whose first language is Korean; Xuan Tu, the owner of the company, assigned us Quon and Thuy as our guides and they both spoke some Korean and were interested in our country, which was a nice surprise and a reflection of the considerate service Xuan Tu provides. We also found that she had accurately relayed all of our requests from my emails with her before the tour.
We started our tour during the hottest part of the day and both our guides bore the kids’ heat-induced grumpiness with good grace and adjusted our schedule accordingly. We visited Linh Ung Temple and Marble Mountain before breaking for lunch at a Korean restaurant in Hoi An (as per the boys’ request) and took a ride on the basket boats and caught lots of coconut crabs!
By that time the sun had gone down a bit and the kids had revived and we all had a blast during the afternoon and evening foodie tour of Hoi An. We tried nine different delicacies that we wouldn’t have known to try without our guides’ recommendations and generally the tour of Hoi An couldn’t have been better. The entire town was crowded with tourists but we were in good hands with Quon and Thuy.
Thanks to Xuan Tu and our two guides and their colleagues whom we ran into in Hoi An. Clearly a happy bunch who rightfully take pride in their work!
