Great tour with Tommy

Tommy gave us a great tour of Hoi An and the surrounding villages. Hoi An was our third city in Vietnam on this trip, having come from Hanoi and Hue. Both these cities have numerous major attractions. By comparison Hoi An is a smaller town, where you get a better chance to see and understand life in Vietnam. Tommy was a great guide for this type of tour. His family has lived here for many generations and he is clearly very proud of his city and its heritage. We used a private boat for the morning portion of the tour and visited a boat building and fine carpentry workshops in one village, then had a chance to visit two families in another village where we made rice paper and helped build cane sleeping mats. Tommy had developed relationships with these families while doing community outreach when he was in school and it shows – they treat him like a true friend of the family and that enthusiasm shows in how they welcomed us as guests. Later, after a great lunch in an off the beaten path restaurant, we toured the town of Hoi An, visited temples, the Japanese covered bridge, and some older homes in the town. Tommy knows his history and brought some of the places to life by using some very creative exhibits on his smartphone. We cannot recommend Tommy and Xuantu highly enough. They did a great job for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our day in Hoi An. — Traveller: 416_to_the_world from Tripadvisor

Day tour to Hue from cruise

Xuan and Quan exceeded our expectations! We chose to hire our own private tour guide since there were so many complaints about the tours Norweigan offered. Xuan was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to emails. Our tour guide, Quan, was fun, happy, and very informative. We visited the Citadel of Hue, the Emperor’s tomb, had a delicious lunch, went shopping, drank coffee and did so much more in less than 8 hours. I would book this tour again if given the opportunity. Thank you for an amazing experience! Quan, You’re Awesome!!!! — Traveller: guismilee from Tripadvisor

Fantastic Half Day from Hoi An to Da Nang with Tommy

My partner and I have just returned from our recent trip to Vietnam and our tour with this company was one of the highlights of the trip. We asked Xuan to arrange a half-day tour taking us from our accommodation in Hoi An up to Da Nang where we would catch a train at lunchtime. We were collected by our guide Tommy at 8.30am and spent a wonderful, informative 4 hours with him. Tommy was incredibly friendly and made us feel extremely welcome from the minute we got in the car. He told us about his home town, Hoi An, where we had spent 3 days and informed us about lots of the scenery on the drive out of the town. Our first stop was at the Marble Mountains, where Tommy told us all about the history of Buddhist culture and took us into lots of fascinating areas of the site that we would never have found ourselves. He took so many fantastic photographs of us and knew all the best photo spots. We then visited a family working in marble carving at the bottom of the mountains. We were told that ordinarily the family would be able to show us the sculptures being carved but unfortunately the workers were on holiday for Tet (lunar new year). We kept this stop brief as we were only able to visit their shop and we were conscious our half day was flying past too quickly. We then enjoyed the drive up to My Khe beach and had the chance to take some more great photos on the beach, before heading up to the Lady Buddha statue where we enjoyed the gorgeous views over Da Nang. Tommy then took us into the city to take us for some Vietnamese coffee at the oldest coffee shop in Da Nang. As coffee lovers, this was a great highlight for us. Tommy was so hospitable and kindly treated us to our coffees as it was my birthday that day – such a kind gesture! We loved having the chance to sit with Tommy in a local café and hear about his life. We then stopped by a fantastic Banh Mi stall for some baguettes to take on to the train and were dropped off at the station in time for our train to Hue. We only wish we had been able to spend longer on this tour – I’m sure the full day trips must be fantastic! Thank you Tommy for your wonderful company and stories on our trip – we loved getting the chance to spend the time with you and see some highlights in your incredible country. Perfect Service and Planning

My wife and I traveled on Celebrity Millennium on a back to back cruise. On our first tour, we visited Hue and on the second we visited Hoi An and De Nang. Anthony was our guide and the car/driver and helper (on first tour) were fantastic. We could not have hoped for more. It was special since they focused on local culture and people rather than just structures. — Traveller: Harvey F from Tripadvisor
