Excellent tours of Hoi An and Hue
My wife and I had an excellent tour for 2 days with Quan at the end of December. The first day we spent in Hoi An and then went to Hue the second day. Quan provided many historical insights on both days and used his guiding experience to save us time at a popular Banh Mi place in Hoi An. It was also very helpful to go to the most important sites in Hoi An as there are many choices. Xuan Tu was great to work with as we modified the daily itineraries a few times and she was very accommodating and responsive. We had a day your in Hoi An with Xuân Tú Private Tour, Thanks Xuân Tú for the prompt reply via email and arranged Trâm to be our guide, who brought my parents and myself to Hoi An for whole day. We went to Cam Thanh Eco Village and had a ride on the round-basket boat! 🙂 received the gift from the “captain” which was a traditional handcraft ring! Then we went to Tra Que Herb & Vegetable village, so good to know different vegetable which we seldom see in Hong Kong! Then we walked around in Hoi An Old Town. We want to have special thanks to Trâm who is really professional, more than that, has the passion of her work and country! She is very informative and super cute! We enjoyed the language exchange a lot ; ) who also get along very well with my parents! She not only shared so much information and history in every spot, but also share the view of the country with me from local’s life to even a bit about the governing policy which really impress us! What a nice city in DaNang and Hoi An! Last but not least, we enjoyed a lot for all the secrets places that Trâm brought us to, we can’t find it without local guideline for sure! That’s also the reason I chose private tour with local, that you could experience much more than any tour! Danang tour was excellent!
Our guide, Tuan Duy,proved to be an excellent tour guide! He had very good knowledge of the history and culture of Vietnam and Danang in particular. After sitting with us in the hotel and asking what we wanted to see, he made several suggestions that we agreed would be a wonderful day. We started with the temples and Lady Buddha. Duy was especially patient as my wife and I tried to look at and photograph everything. Duy asked often if we wanted our picture taken with the sites and pointed out things we didn’t see, explaining what we were looking at and the history behind it. He and our driver were very willing to stop and let us take pictures of basket boats and explaining why there were these crazy looking boats and how to paddle one. We then went to Longs coffee, in business with the same family since 1939, and introduced us to Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. Delicious! After that we drove to the open market, at our request, and tasted some Vietnamese treats and fruits, something we would never do on our own. Then it was time for lunch and I asked if we could have Pho, which I have never tried even though there are thousands of Pho restaurants in the US. Duy took us to a small, local restaurant and it was exactly what we wanted to experience. Finished with lunch, we drove to Marble Mountain which is a must see attraction in Danang. Duy was especially patient with my wife who was a little slow on the steps, asking often if she wanted to rest. I really appreciated his concern. He pointed out all the mountains (I thought there was only one) and showed us pretty much all of the caves and temples/statues/interesting artifacts as well as the history from ancient times to modern. I asked if we could visit a site where they carved the statuary that lined the streets. He took us to a “Factory” where they explained the sculptor worked in a different location. So off we went to an amazing place where we did see the sculptor working on a piece. It was so impressive we bought three pieces and had them shipped home. A Fantastic 50/50 Danang and Hoi An Tour by Duy~
Engage Xuan Tu for a “introduction” trip for me in Danang as this is the first time i am here. Took up their 50/50 Danang and Hoi An package. They engage a tour named Duy to me today and man he is such a chatty and nice guide. He bought me to the few popular places in Danang and intro me the “egg coffee”, which can only be found in few places in Vietnam. it is such a good drink ! After tat, he proceed to bring me to Hoi An Marble mountain and the ancient city. Great exploration and knowledge sharing by him to learn about the nice places in Danang and Hoi An.
