We were fortunate to have this tour company recommended to us so prior to leaving for our trip we organised two separate tours. Both of these tours with guides Tram and Lam were excellent as they are locals and tours can be arranged from your personal requirements.
Tram took us to Da Nang where we visited the Lady Buddha and the temples close by where she explained the culture about the Lady Buddha. We also visited a local coffee shop to drink Vietnamese coffee with the locals, went to the local market and went to lunch in a restaurant with all the locals.
Our tour with Lam would be to Cam Kim Island, Hoi An and to My Son Sanctuary. We took a local boat from Hoi An crossing Thu Bon River to arrive at Cam Kim Island. Here we saw craftsmen using traditional methods to build boats and carvings plus see the production of rice paper and mats. These people work extremely hard and do this so their children may get a decent education. We would have lunch at the Banh Mi Phuong in Hoi An where the most famous Banh Mi are served. The afternoon we traveled to My Son Sanctuary about 1 hours drive from Da Nang. My Son was the capital of the Champa Kingdom between the 4th and 13th centuries as is listed as a World Heritage site. Here there are the remains of tower/temples of that time.
Xaun Tu Tours not only have excellent guides, use modern air conditioned vehicles with excellent drivers, do not take commissions from purchases made and do not use tourist vessels but use those used by the locals. they also care for the people whose homes we visited on our tours.
