Xuan Tu is the best tour guide we have ever come across. We instantly felt comfortable with her and it was never awkward. We had a half day tour of Da Nang with two of our other friends. The last minute additions to our private tour was no hassle to her and she welcomed them warmly. We went by private car, which was very comfortable and were provided with water and cleansing wipes. The whole time we were informed of our local surroundings and lots of stories were told.
We first visited a local fishing village at the north end of My Khe beach. We were informed of how the locals live their daily lives catching seafood, preparing it for sale and then taking it to the central market. We took photos here and she even had fun with us by getting on the back of a trailer and scooter for a photo.
We then went to Ling Ung Pagoda on the cliffs of Son Thuy Mountain where Lady Buddha stands. She explained all the important facts and we even got to make a wish to the Lady Buddha shrine, which was really special. Lots of photos were taken and even some funny ones making it a laugh a minute. There is a beautiful view up on this mountain and so much to see.
Next stop was Marble Mountain where another Pagoda is and very beautiful caves. There were special things in these caves that she showed us and would not have seen if we were on our own. I even got to make another wish to the Buddha with water. More photos were taken and the place was just magical. She even helped us barter with the shop keepers so we knew we were getting a good price on products.
After this the tour was finished but she did offer to take us somewhere for lunch if we wanted to. She even offered to take us to train station to buy tickets as we needed them for the next day. Nothing was too hard for her and she was very accommodating. She clearly loves what she does, is very knowledgable and truely passionate about her local cities. As a bonus you also get a very keen photographer always wanting to take photos for you so you are in them.
She speaks fluent English, is always smiling and laughing and has a great sense of humour. We can’t rate her highly enough and if there was a 6 Star she would certainly get it. She definitely deserves to be the number 1 guide on trip advisor!
