My friend and I booked the private day long tour. We were picked up at 10.30am at our hotel and taken by car to the first stop on our trip.
Everything was easy to arrange. I liaised with Quan by email to make the booking. She suggested an itinerary and there was no problem in modifying it for a particular activity we wanted to try (riding a buffalo!)
Our guide was Tommy. His passion and enthusiasm for his home town really came across. He always had interesting facts about every destination and was willing to answer any questions. He had a light hearted and friendly manner and was the perfect companion for us for the day. As well as the buffalo ride, we visited Cam Kim island to see the local carpentry workshop and the home of a local family – we even tried our hand at making rice paper! We also had a tour of the old town, including the temples and ancient houses. Tommy also took us to a lovely local restaurant for lunch, a cafe for more of that beautiful coffee, and then we sampled the best Banh Mi sandwiches in town!
Despite the horrendous (!) rain in the morning, Tommy ensured we still had a fantastic day and didn’t let that get in the way of showing us the sights. Just bring a rain poncho! 🙂
